Rita is a single woman of a certain age with a great sense of drama. Through her love of opera, she anxiously tries to escape the daily grind and the woes of old age. She gets lost in a mental labyrinth where the boundaries between fiction and reality have become entirely blurred. Like an elderly Alice in Wonderland, she is just trying to find her way.
“Rita” is a play that takes everyday life and transforms it into something extraordinary.
BRONKS is Brussels’ Dutch-language theatre for young audiences. The building, in the heart of the European capital, is a meeting point for all ages, cultures, identities, languages and art forms.
BRONKS calls upon both established and aspiring young theatre-makers to create productions on bold and relevant topics. BRONKS’ productions are often witty, demanding, multi-layered and thought-provoking – well-made theatre that reflects on the world and provides the means to understand it better.
