A reunion of alumni scholarship holders

Where did it get us?

Saturday, 21.08.2021, different places

The scholarship programme NRW Young Talents of Independent Children’s and Youth Theatre has existed since 2013. Introduced as part of a state funding and qualification package for independent theatres in North Rhine-Westphalia, COMEDIA Theater assumed responsibility for the call for applications, coordination and awarding procedure in cooperation with the NRW Workgroup of Theatres for Young Audiences.

So far, 48 scholarship holders have investigated and explored at NRW’s independent theatres with their research and gained valuable practical experience for their professional future during the four months of the scholarship.

The reunion at WESTWIND 2021 – for which a scholarship holder is currently developing the sustainability programme – shall take a look back on what has been as well as to what lies ahead in an attempt to describe the value of the scholarship period for personal/professional development in addition to posing an excellent opportunity for exchange. Moreover, this discussion could provide vital impulses on the ideal framework for young talent development, a topic which is currently up for evaluation.

Participants have been invited to meet at WESTWIND in Cologne on Saturday, 21 August 2021 and attend the performance “W.H.A.M - White Heterosexual Old Man”, get involved in the accompanying events and sit down and talk to each other from 5:00-7:30 pm.

The invitation was sent to all NRW scholarship holders and registration was open through 26 May 2021. If an analogue meeting is not possible in August 2021, the alumni reunion will take place digitally.
